Complete the academic and pool parts of your dive training at home in your local dive center and
come to Utila to complete the open water part of your training around Utila's beautiful fringing reef.
A Referral allows you learn to dive by training with a dive instructor at home to complete all the academic portions of your training and then come and see us at Alton's Dive Center to complete your training and gain your scuba diving certification with one of our NAUI instructors or PADI instructors. That way you lose none of your valuable vacation time to sitting in a classroom! Plus your first open water dives will be the clear blue warm waters of Utila and you'll experience how amazing the reef can be from your very first open water dive!
As a NAUI resort and PADI resort we give you the best in choice and flexibility. All you need to do is start either a NAUI Scuba Diver course or a PADI Open Water Diver course with your local dive center at home and complete the academic and confined water (pool) portions of your training with them. When you finish this portion of the training, your local dive center will issue you a "Letter of Referral". This allows you to come to Utila to complete your open water dives in warm Caribbean waters on the fringing reef surrounding Utila. So instead of doing those cold quarry or lake dives come to the Caribbean and dive with us.
Our dive referral program includes four open water scuba dives, with a large portion of those dives cruising the reef. You will get plenty of time underwater and plenty of time to see the huge variety of marine life we have around Utila!
During each dive we will help you to master the skills you have been taught, teach you how to dive safely and show you around the reef.
Everything you need is included in the price, just remember to bring your study materials (manual, etc) and we can provide the rest!
