Advanced Diver
Utila is home to a huge variety of dive sites, which makes the island a great place to take your Advanced Open Water course. From deep dives (to a maximum of 100ft/30m) such as
Black Hills or wreck dives where you can explore the famous
Haliburton wreck, to drift dives exploring the overhangs of
Blackish Point or the caves and caverns of
Airport Caves.
Navigation on the reef can be a little difficult without some training, so a required part of the Advanced Open Water course is to learn more effective underwater navigation techniques. Another required dive for the Advanced course is the deep dive. Ever thought about diving at night? The Advanced course will take you into the different world of night diving!
